United States Geography

For Kids

From sea to shining sea, the geography of the United States includes mountains, lakes, rivers, deserts, islands, people, and more! The United States is the 3rd largest country in the world. It is located in North America between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The United States is bordered by Canada to the north and by Mexico in the south. Both Canada and Mexico are also in North America.

The United States is a big place. Fortunately, the following huge sites have not only broken down US geography in easy and fun ways, but these sites are interactive and free to use for kids and teachers. Whatever you want to know about US geography, you can probably find it in one of the links below, in an interactive, illustrated, animated, challenging way. Have fun!
